WE DID IT!!!
I know when we were all going back to SCH, and everyone was just quiet, not knowing what to say or how to say it, cuz everyone just felt like crying and didn't know what to do anymore... WELL that was one of the saddest experiences I've ever had.
BUT ANYWAY! WE GOT A GOLD PEOPLE!!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! OMG!!! Haha you all did the thanking thing, so I'll just keep that one short!
I would like to thank the judges (individual stand bla bla clap clap WOOT mr nonami was loudest LOL.) And thank Yamaha music asia for their generous loan of percussion instruments for this year's Singapore Youth Festival. We would also like to thank all band directors, tutors, and teachers in charge for all their hard work put into this SYF preperation. Most importantly, I would like to thank ALL YOU STUDENTS for participating in the SYF! Without you, this could never happen!
And now, the moment you've all been waiting for. The Results of Singapore Youth Festival, Day one, 30th March...
....
Band number eleven, CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh). GOLD AWARD!!!
Haha how can I explain the way I felt? I have no idea. Anyway, the point is that I WAS HIGH for like the longest period I've ever known. so YAY(:
THANKS A MILLION GAZILLION BAJILLION TO: Mr Clarence Tan, Mr Leonard Tan, Mr Stanley Sim, Mr Chan, Mr Tang, Mrs Kwan, Ms Ong, the WHOLE OF IJ BAND, every single one of you, all the seniors who made us who we are today(omg we'll miss you!!!), XINHUI! JINGYUN! VALERIE! FATIN! BAOHONG! ELIZA! WOOT! haha. Singapore Youth Festival Committee, Mr bus driver uncle person, SCH, and sgbandfusion! HAHA.

Okay anyway, I just wanna end off by saying how happy I am of what we've acheived and how we managed to mantain that GOLD!

Hello (: haha. this is my first time posting here. so i shall begin(:

we got a gold for syf. everyone who comes here knows this already, i know. but always remember that no matter what other people say for example (a girl in my class told me this ok) 'it isn't good enough to get a gold', and that 'so many other bands got gwh so gold is nothing', we must be happy that we got a gold and that our hard work has all paid off. SMILE (:

OK(: i saw the previous posts by Sarah and Natalie thanking all the teachers in charge, Mr tan.......and i agree. but i think we would have never been able to do it without the seniors(: especially :
-Xin Hui, for always getting scolded because we couldn't play our parts (or they thought that we couldn't) anyway (:
-Bao Hong, for always inspiring the rest of us to feel and move to the music and for helping me with my umbature (sp?) during the march hols (:
-Valerie (valarie) heehee, for being funny and supportive all the time.

and all the other seniors(: and to all the ex seniors who have supported us in every way, and to the rest of the sec 3's! whether in the syf grp or not. we did it. i love you ppl (:

band practices have stopped and there is like a big empty part in my timetable since Monday(: but then lets all study hard for mid-year exams(: (hint hint to Kim who keeps telling me she doesn't feel like doing homework) haha. personally, i wrote (4sf) 1000000 times today that the sight of it makes me feel like puking, but still(: we can do it man. after syf, what is mid yrs right? hahahahaha ok. chiaos people (: i'll miss you all.

Though we differ, we stand as one
WE DID IT! (: and achieved that GOLD! good job guys, *give yourselves a pat on the back* At least the past 3-4 months of hard work finally paid off. actually, I am very proud of our section, and I'm sure we were very musical and moved alot on stage. heh heh xD I can still remember when the emcee announced the result and how i squeezed kim's hand really tightly
Band no. 11
CHIJ SECONDARY TOA PAYOH.......
GOLD!!!
and we all jumped from our seats screaming and screming! that was perhaps one of the happiest moments in my life. and of course, in order for all these to be made possible, many people need to be thanked:
1. SENIORS-
everyone of you made the effort to help us, sec 3s, improve. Everyone of you helped the 3rds alot during sectionals (: and during the last practice, Bao Hong came up with a "method" to make us move. Eliza! my 'half-band' parts partner :D yay! I guess we really did it! (: All of you really really put in alot of effort and I am very sure we are really thankful for it no doubt the process was tiring.
2. My sec 3 peers(:
I am sure we benefitted alot from this experience. I will never forget how serena and I would remind kim to play softer and she really compromised(: thank you kim! Although we were really busy getting used to our sec 3 life, but I'm sure our seniors are far busier. and now, we can say that all our sacrificing paid off. now lets work hard for mid-years! :( sobs.
3. OUR ENTIRE SECTION!
We were all in this together, no matter what the outcome was, we comforted each other along the way. There were many ups and downs we experienced, but we faced it together as a section and nothing is going to tear us apart (: I love you guys <3
4. and yes, as what sarah said, the agency (:
It was really hillarious, all those stuff we came up with xD we must give each one a name, I'm sure some don't have one yet... haha.
Our conductors Mr Clarence Tan and Mr Leonard Tan [did I spell their names correctly?] for all their guidance and patience (:
Lastly, to God. For his continual guidance, watching over us every step of the way (:
No matter what we do, we are still one section and nothing's going to tear us apart(: Thank you all for making this band process enjoyable for me. All the best for mid-years!
Natalie(:
